WorkplaceNL covers certain diagnosed psychological injuries when they are due to workplace harassment (new as of June 1, 2026) OR they are a reaction to a traumatic workplace event or events. We may cover a claim for both a psychological and a physical injury from the same event.

Definition
In the context of WorkplaceNL’s coverage, a psychological injury is one that results from a work-related traumatic event or events or is due to workplace harassment. A psychological injury diagnosis must be provided by an appropriate regulated health care professional (physician, nurse practitioner, psychologist or psychiatrist).
