Health, dental and vision
We cost-share health, dental and vision coverage for you and your family. Unlike other dental plans provided in the public service, WorkplaceNL shares the plan’s cost with employees and provides additional coverage for orthodontic, restorative, surgical and prosthodontic services.
Long-term disability and life insurance
Other optional insurance, including long-term disability, life insurance, spousal life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment and critical illness insurance, provide additional financial support for our employees in a difficult time.
Defined benefit pension plan
Our employees enroll in the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP) – the largest public-sector pension plan in Newfoundland and Labrador with over 55,000 plan members and administered by Provident10.
Vacation and leave
We offer generous vacation leave, statutory holidays and leave for family responsibility, bereavement and sick purposes. We also allow employees to switch statutory holidays for another day that is of cultural or religious significance.

We work reduced hours in the summer without loss of pay.
