2022 Research Projects and Reports
WorkplaceNL approved research funding for the following two research projects; findings from the research will be posted when available:
- Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador – New graduate nurses’ experiences with and perceptions of their mental health and well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic: An interpretive descriptive study. Research funding will support new insights to help explore and evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on new graduate nurses’ mental health including the nature of supports and interventions that may have been effective or absent in helping these trainees with their psychological well-being during the pandemic.

- Final Report: New graduate nurses’ experiences with and perceptions of their mental health and well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic: An interpretive descriptive study
- Canadian Homebuilders Association of Newfoundland and Labrador – Harnessing artificial intelligence to increase workplace safety. Research funding will support identifying root causes of incidents and accidents in the province’s residential construction sector. Using the results of this research, an algorithm will be developed to provide insights into the behaviours that lead to incidents and accidents and thus identify skill gaps.
