The Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Act, 2022 (the Act) is now in effect, as of September 1, 2023.
There are no changes to benefits, coverage, obligations or responsibilities for workers, employers or WorkplaceNL. The Act was re-written to use more modern language, address housekeeping issues and align with other legislation.
The Act has a new name and virtually all section numbers are different – and is available online: Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Act, 2022.
WorkplaceNL is updating its materials and systems to reference the new Act, and appreciates your patience as we work through these changes.
