Elizabeth Lane Appointed Chief Executive Officer of WorkplaceNL
The Honourable Pam Parsons, Minister of Labour and Minister Responsible for WorkplaceNL is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Lane as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 30, 2025.
Ms. Lane brings more than 25 years of experience in the Newfoundland and Labrador public service. Since 2021, she has served as Secretary of the Treasury Board and Deputy Minister responsible for the Treasury Board Secretariat. Prior to that, she held the role of Assistant Deputy Minister, overseeing both Collective Bargaining and Human Resource Management within the former Human Resources Secretariat and later the Treasury Board Secretariat from 2018 to 2021.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Lane held progressively senior positions, including Director of Labour Relations with the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Boards Association and Director of Collective Bargaining for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Ms. Lane holds a Master of Employment Relations and a Bachelor of Commerce from Memorial University.
Serving approximately 215,000 workers and 17,500 employers, WorkplaceNL administers an employer-funded, no-fault workers’ compensation system that promotes safe and healthy workplaces, provides return-to-work programs and offers compensation to injured workers and their dependents.
