Violence is a serious issue that affects workplaces across the province. Although the risk of workplace violence is higher in certain industries such as health care, service and retail, any workplace is at risk! Many factors can increase the risk of workplace violence.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Health and Safety Regulations outline requirements for employers related to workplace violence. While harassment is a form of workplace violence, there are additional legislative requirements for employers related to harassment prevention effective January 2020. This session will provide an overview of these legislative requirements.
