Many gases can be flammable, explosive, toxic and/or corrosive. Using compressed gases in the workplace can be dangerous if they are handled, used or stored improperly. Employees should be aware of potential dangers in working with compressed gas receptacles. Employers should develop safe work procedures and emergency plans appropriate for the type of gases being used.
